The Uni bug is… on TNT’s side?
We’ve investigated the infamous Uni bug that shows you Uni SWFs in addition to the correct ones, and it looks like, umm, it’s a bug on Neopets.com.
When a pet is wearing clothes, then is zapped into something like a Mutant Mynci, it’s technically still wearing those clothes - you just don’t see them. When we download the data on what the pet is wearing, though, even though it should return absolutely no SWFs, it returns the SWFs for the standard Uni. Regardless of the current or previous species of the pet. Which is just plain weird.
Apparently the customization SWF somehow reconciles this issue, and we haven’t yet figured out just how it does. We’ve notified TNT programmers of the issue, and maybe the bug will get fixed on their side… otherwise, we’ll need to figure out what sort of workaround voodoo the customization SWF uses. In the meantime, we’ll just keep doing what we’ve been doing for the past few days: automatically fixing the glitched SWFs on a regular basis.
