Dress to Impress is Live!
Today’s the day! OpenNeo’s open-source wardrobe system, Dress to Impress, is ready for you!
- Getting Started: First things first. Check out the power. Enter your pet’s name on the homepage, and then you see it. Right there. With all its clothes right there already. If we didn’t have support for one of those wearables before, well, we do now. That’s how Impress runs - community contribution made easy. And if you log in up in the corner, all your contributions will earn you points to put you up with the Top Contributors, and give you both a sense of usefulness and better-than-youishness.
- Dress-up time: No one should ever have to buy an item and then decide it doesn’t work right. That’s why you can plan your entire outfit ahead of time. Search is a simple matter of typing the item name into the search box, and anything that has been in the mall over the past month or two is already magically loaded in. Neat! We’ve also got NP items, but those are entirely user-driven, so we won’t have an excellent library of those until we get some help.
- Modeling pets: Type in your pet’s name, and, based on its body type, we’ll show you what items we need it to help model. Check your closet to see what you have, put ‘em on, and then click the button - we’ll check your pet, get some data, give you some points, and that’s that. Don’t forget to check your friends’ closets, too - maybe you could help each other out.
- Finding pet types: Pick a species, then pick a color. We’ll launch a quick Google window, giving you plenty of pets who, at least up until recently, match the pet type we’re looking for. Type in their name, and enjoy your 25 points! Pet types are a limited-time deal, after all.
- Browse the code: This project is open-source, so feel free to take a look at the PHP, HTML, Javascript, Actionscript, etc. keeping it running, and make any changes you feel need made. If we like it, we’ll pull the change right in!
